    3. If you go to the USGS name server at http://geonames.usgs.gov/ and then click on "United States and its territories", you will get to a page where you can have a search made. In "Feature Name", put Adair In State or Territory, select Mississippi. In Feature type, select cemetery. Then, click on "send query". You will find an Adair cemetery, near New Albany in Union county, which adjoins Marshall county. scroll down a little, and you can have it draw you a map so you can find it. Plus, you have the longitude and latitude of the cemetery, so if you have a GPS receiver, you can go right to it, to within just a few yards. Some of these old cemeteries have had their names changed over the years, so it may not be the Adair cemetery now. don Don Erickson, Colorado Springs CO USA don_erickson@pcisys.net don.erickson@adelphia.net http://home.pcisys.net/~don_erickson/ ----- Original Message ----- From: "kennethholbrook" <kennethholbrook@bellsouth.net> To: <MSMARSHA-L@rootsweb.com> Sent: Monday, October 18, 2004 7:12 AM Subject: Re: [MSMARSHA-L] Adair Cemetery in Holly Springs Mississippi. > The only Adair I found so far in the cemetery book is > Daisy Lee Adair b. 3. Pete, I did not know you had Marshall County roots. As soon as I get a chance I will try to look up something for you. The land your ancestor had is in a part of the county that is today mostly unpopulated, with a few dirt roads. I was by there about a month ago, just riding around. If you can find Chulahoma on a map, it is about four miles, south, southeast, of Chulahoma. There is not even a dirt road that is a public road that goes by it. Have not seen you since you were C-I-C, how are things going out there. Bobby Mitchell, Camp 1379 Pete Orlebeke <pwo@sbcglobal.net> wrote: Researching Thomas BATY or BEATY family of Marshall Co., MS. 3. This Outgoing message has been scanned by Norton's Anti Virus 2003 and is virus free. Thank you for checking Tela, I guess my cousin was wrong about there being an Adair Cemetery in Marshall Co. I'm looking for my GG Grandmother Ann (Smith) Adair who died 16 Oct 1852 (from our Adair Family Bible) - probably too early for any cemetery book & guess any church records must not have survived so we'll probably never know where she's buried. Her husband James Adair d. on 22 Mar 1851 in Shelby Co. TN. but Co. didn't know where he was buried either. Ann was living with her sons Andrew Jackson Adair & John Smith Adair in Marshall Co. MS at the time she died. By the 1880's the sons were in Tate Co. MS where John S. Adair was buried in Tyro Cem. along with wife of A.J. Adair, Frances Gant Adair. In late 1880's A.J. migrated on to Hays Co. TX with most of his children. Thanks for the offer of look up. Much appreciated. ----- Original Message ----- From: "tmdh53" <tmdh53@bellsouth.net> To: <MSMARSHA-L@rootsweb.com> Sent: Saturday, October 16, 2004 9:05 AM Subject: Re: [MSMARSHA-L] Adair Cemetery in Holly Springs Mississippi.
