He was in Northern Division 1850 census age 22 b TN. I was told that he married Julia Ruff, daughter of Benjamin Ruff. However, I am unable to confirm that. 1. Missing areas in 1850
    2. Dan & Alice Lee
    3. Yes, I, too, have several families missing in 1850, the only census on which my great-grandmother would have been with her family. She married in 1853. I have read that census line by line several times, and they just aren't there. John H. Tabor (Tabour in 1840), wife Nancy, and children. There are about eight neighbors in 1840 who are missing totally in 1850. Southern Division of Marshall County, Joseph Mosby's division, in 1840 shows Hugh Pipkin, Edw. C. Owen, John Keelv (?), J.R. Jones, J.H.H. McRie, Sam'l Stokes, and James Porter, neighbors who cannot be found on the 1850 census. The Tabors are back on the 1860 census, Holly Springs, page 1, family 2. I've checked bordering Tennessee counties, MS counties, and they just are not there that I can find. They were buying and selling property during this time. If anyone can help, I'd be so grateful. Alice in KY

Topp of Holly Springs who lived on Salem Ave. and owned Airliewood. >From the 1880 census taken on June 4, 1880, it indicates he is alive, but bed-ridden, then a notice in the Southern Reporter (or it predecessor) reports in early January 1881, the "late", Dickson C. Topp. I have search the local Holly Springs newspaper and most of that period is missing, the Memphis Library, as he had a twin brother, Roberston, that lived in Memphis, Marshall County Court House for probated wills etc., and the MS. archives. Can anyone help me locate his death date? >From what I have said, he was alive on June 4, 1880, but dead early in January 1881, a span of some seven months. My "personal theory" is he died some time in June, July or August, but have no proof. Can anyone shed any light on this one? Jim Topp jtopp@midsouth.rr.com

    3. Do you know of any connection between Eli Jones and the Bogard or Travis family? While in Benton Co. doing research several years ago, I came across research papers from a woman who had died in the 1980's. She was searching a connection between the two families. Alexander Anderson Bogard married Susan Travis about 1839 in TN. They moved to Tippah Co. MS in 1840's. The Mt. Zion cemetery has Jones and Bogards buried there.
