Daniel Harshaw, born 5Nov 1811,Charolette,S.C.:died 8Dec1883 ,Hickory Plains, Ar.Married Mary N. Dowdle, 19Feb,1835. Mary born 1Feb1819,Charlotte S.C. :died 22Nov,1898: Hickory Plains Ar. Both are buried there in the family cemetry. Jon's fullname was John Robert(this was my great-grandfather). I have the Jon Robert line if you need it Oh, the town they were married in was Yorkville.S.C. The reason you are probably having a hard finding futher info John Robert was born in Hickory Plains in 1852 so they had moved there before Robert was born.

all- please think about this and consider doing it.---good info. while visiting a large cemetery in tyler texas this past week i saw something i had not seen done before. this was mostly on double headstones tho some were singles. on the backside of the tombstone was engraved the names of the children. wouldn't it be wonderful if they all were that way. these were very old up to very new gravestones and quite a number of them were that way. must be a tradition in that cemetery. we were in the old part, the new part being across the road and we did not go in new part which was quite large. my husband found one of his grandmas there in the older part.. it is a well kept cemetery being beside a current church. when i die my tombstone will have the name of my children engraved on the back. 100 years from now it may help one of my grandchildren as they trace my family line or yours. just something helpful for genealogist to think about and it looked pretty neat too. this may already being done in other cemeteries but i had not seen it before so it was new to me.. ruth wolfe wilson
