I've got both back in the early to mid-19th century in the area. My webpage at users.erols.com/webmouse has most of what I know. Look on the Who's Who page -- I'm descended from Captain Green Pryor and from Adam Rankin Alexander. Ring any bells? Most of my family had left for Arkansas by 1900. Let me know if this helps.

Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/an/HKB.2ACI/1611 Message Board Post: I may not be the Martin you are looking for, but I also am looking for any information I can find on my father whose name was Eli Martin. His history is somewhat clouded but here is what I remember. Eli Martin was born April 15, 1884 somewhere around Yazoo City, Biloxi, Belzoni, Vicksburg or Natchez. He had several brothers and sisters. The names I remember are: Sallie, Ben, Cleveland. Uncle Cleve lived in Rolling Fork. Many cousins and family members lived around Mound Bayou, Shelby, Clarksdale, Vicksburg, Larmon. His biological name was Williams, however, he took on the last name of his stepfather, Martin. I've been told a large family reunion is held yearly which consists mainly of the Williams side. Maybe you can't help, but a reply will be greatly appreciated. Hope you find those you are looking to complete your family tree. Arnetta

Surnames: Yarborough, Peel Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/HKB.2ACI/506.1.1 Message Board Post: I don't know if we're tracking the same set of Yarboroughs, but kin did tend to move in packs in the 19th century. Here's what I have: Ellen Peel (my gx2grandmother), the daughter of William Peel and Mary Davis of Marshall County, MS, was listed with Charles Yarborough & family in the 1860 census, presumably an orphan. I also have a photo of an Ernest Yarborough, c. 1896, given to my great-aunt Reba when she was a girl. This picture is posted on my website (users.erols.com/webmouse -- look under Who's Who) Priscilla Lanier, is listed in the 1910 census with my great grandfather Hunter Peel Alexander as his great aunt. Her death certificate gives her mother's maiden name as Yarborough. This seems to indicate that the Yarboroughs' were Ellen Peel's kin on her mother's side, but I haven't worked out how.
