Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/HKB.2ACI/114.1.1.2.1 Message Board Post: I am not dealing with Caleb Celies Hicks. My man is Caleb Newton Hicks and my information that Wesley P. Baughman married Mary Josephine Hicks, widow of Caleb Newton Hicks, is from Walter Cox who gathered the Confederate information for Tippah County, Mississippi. The marriage record of Wesley P. Baughman and Mary Josephine Hicks is in Mississippi Marriages and took place in Marshall County. Also, the John Hicks with a wife named Lucinda is in Household #1251 in 1850 Tippah County and John Hicks, the son of Joseph and Jemima Hicks is in household #1258 with his parents. There is a Cobb Hicks and wife Mary in household #1259 right next door to Joseph and Jemima Hicks. I do not know if Cobb Hicks is related to Joseph and Jemima Hicks. It was Richard and James Hicks who moved to Texas and served in the Confederacy in Texas, Oklahoma, Arkansas and Louisiana. They are buried in Whitney, Texas. I have found no record of a Caleb Celies Hicks being buried in Whitney, Texas. It is al! most as if someone has taken the initials C.C. Hicks and tried to fit a person to them. Hicks is not my line, either -- nor is Baughman, but something is seriously wrong with this genealogy. Best wishes to you in your research.

    2. LeRoy, I was there in January of 1999 and it was very neglected. Most of the tombstones were still legible however. I can't remember exactly where it was as we visited several cemeteries that day. But, I do remember that we asked directions several times and eventually found it. It sits right on the side of the road.
