    2. This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/HKB.2ACI/1650.1 Message Board Post: My husband's grandfather's sister's name was Samantha Jones. Her married name was Hancock. Is it possible that the person you are looking for may be related to the same Samantha Jones? I would be interested in sharing information if they are the same. My husband's mother's side of the family came from around Potts Camp, MS, so we are wondering if his father's side of the family may have been in Marshall Co. around the time that you are talking about.

I talked with Henry Boswell, the owner, several months back and I don't think he is going to do any repairs. Back last summer a swarm of bees had taken up residence there. Henry Boswell's address is P.O. Box 23 Mt. Pleasant, MS 38649 I don't have his phone number. You might contact his brother Frank Boswell at 60 Maude Rd. Holly Springs,MS 38635 - phone# (662) 252-5698. I am originally from the Mt. Pleasant area and I too, thought the old home place was pretty when the Boswell's lived there. The info you've provided is very inlightening. One of my cousins whom I just met last year from Memphis, TN told me he had heard that great grandmother was from England; census records listed MS as birthplace. I would like to know where I might get more of the information you've provided me today. My maternal family was large but apparently not very close(not so today, we are very close). My mother died 2yrs ago & her only sister died 2yrs later. I never really knew my grandmother because I was only about 1 1/2 yrs old when she died. Something within me seems to being drawing me to find out more about my ancesters; family is very important to me. Thanks again Darrel & GB. Judy

    2. This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/HKB.2ACI/1646.1 Message Board Post: The New Hope Cemetery is shown on USGS Quadrangle maps and from the intersection of Hwy 310 and Laws Hill road you go south on Laws Hill road towards Old Wyatt for 1 1/2 miles. There is a small drive or road on your left with a locked gate. The cemetery is located 1/4 mile down this drive. Mrs Louise Shaw Clanton recently married Mr J.W. Thomas live by the drive and I believe has a key to the gate or members of the New Hope Church do. Thank you for answering my question. A little insight might be that Alexander Meek, one of the few Revolutionary soldiers buried in this area, and his sons founded a plantation about 1840 between Laws Hill and Chulahoma. It was called Meeks Blackwater Plantation named for the creek that runs thru it. I think Alexander was pretty infirm by this time and it was mainly his sons who had the place. But I am sure they were slave owners and might me the origin of the English name Meak(Meek).
