    2. This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/HKB.2ACI/1669 Message Board Post: I am tracing Jenkins Fant who lived in Pontotoc, Miss. in 1850. Married to Emeline Meeks abt. 1847. Moved to Pike Co. Arkansas in late 1850's. He was my gg grandfather. I visited Pontotoc last week. Found nothing new re Jenkins, but deed records documented land sales involving Fants from Marshall Co., Miss. in the 1840's. Then I found your name in the USGenweb page for Marshall Co. Do you have any insights re Jenkins? Bert T. Fant

It's location is T3-S, R4-W, Section 12 . . . outside of Holly Springs, Marshall, MS. Wilkins, Aaron J., 9 Jul 1857 - 2 Jun 1901 Wilkins, Clara G., 21 Jul 1872 - 1 Nov 1898, wife of C.F. BRYAN, farm overseer, in Holly Springs postal area with eight or nine children. In 1869, Wm. F. BRYAN moved to Limestone County TX, with only one of the children listed in 1860 census, bringing 13-year-old orphan Samuel PARSONS with him. Both Wm. F. Bryan and Samuel Parsons were born in Kentucky. Apparently, some of the children listed in 1860 married in Marshall Co MS, others died. My brickwall is:- How was my Grandfather Samuel P. Parsons related to William Fletcher Bryan?????

We are compiling a database for our chapter's 100th anniversary in 2007. John Bethune Dortch and Mary Pegues are the parents of a past member of ours -- Mildred Bethune Dortch Harris. She married a Theron D. Harris and resided in Canon City. Her lineage she used for the DAR goes through her mother's side and her DAR # is 96149. Our chapter has a copy of her application. We are needing her birth/death dates and place of death/burial. If she is buried in Colorado, we eventually plan to place DAR memorial markers on past members' graves. Any help you can provide me on the about information needed would be really appreciated. You can email me at: [email protected] Also, if you would like a copy of her application, it can be obtained either through the NDAR in Washington, D.C. or through our chapter for a fee of $5. It is much quicker to receive it from us as it takes national at least a month's turnaround time. Thank you once again. Marianne Fahey
