My known Miller line begins with John Miller who died before January 5, 1829 in Jackson County, GA. John's son, William P. Miller had a son John Harwell Miller who was b. in 1833. His wife's name was Sarah A. I have not researched John Harwell and do not know anything more about him. His sister's, Mahulda Anne and Amanda, married Gilmore/Gilmer brothers and both came to Marshall County after the Civil war. It is possible that their brother's came too. Wish I could have been of more help.

I've often wondered if Wyatt Hawkins Jones had any siblings and if they traveled or lived close by. I wonder if Wyatt and Eli could have been related and if James and Carey/Carrie could have been family names handed down through the family. Its something to look at anyway. Thanks, Sandra

Just coincidental? The line of Jones I am searching is on rootsweb's WorldConnectProject (Family Trees). My James R. Jones is listed as married to a Fannie ? with daughter Carey Jones born abt. 1899. I know this date doesn't match your Carrie's. But the submitter could be incorrect? I welcome your comments. Berta

He married Edna Ethel Coleman, they had 2 children the first of which was my grandaddy, Teamious Hawkins Jones. When Team was 5 his little sister Carrie Lee was born (1890). Edna died as a result of childbirth and shortly after that James abandoned his children and ran off with a women who the family disapproved of. Apparently he was disowned by his family because no one seems to have any information on him at all after that. I have been trying to find out who he married and where he went as well as any other children he may have had. Team and Carrie lived with family members but mostly with Garrett Coleman and Susie Jones Coleman. Garrett was the brother of Edna Ethel Coleman Jones and Susie was the sister of James Jones. I found them in 1850 DeSoto Co census and later in Marshall Co where they settled. They lived and died in the Wallhill Community which is between Independence and Holly Springs. We found the cemetery where several family members are buried. It is on private property which has now been designated as a historical cemetery thanks to my cousin. It was on their original home place in Wallhill. Do we have a connection? Sandra

BURIED VETERANS' RECORDS NOW AVAILABLE ON WEB By Suzanne Gamboa The Associated Press WASHINGTON - VA has made it easier and faster for the public to get answers about family history, old war buddies or famous war heroes. The agency put on the Web 3.2 million records for veterans buried at 120 national cemeteries since the Civil War. The VA's Nationwide Gravesite Locator, at http://www.cem.va.gov, also has records for some state veterans cemeteries and burials in Arlington National Cemetery since 1999. Joe Nosari, VA's deputy chief information officer for Memorial Affairs, said the records used to be on paper and microfilm. Private companies have put some of the information online and charged for it, but the VA information is free, he said. The VA's gravesite navigator includes names, dates of birth and death, military service dates, service branch and rank if known, cemetery information and grave location in the cemetery. The VA will withhold some information, such as next of kin, for privacy purposes. The site will be updated daily. Annually, about 80,000 veterans are buried at national cemeteries. The VA also hopes to add records for veterans whose families requested grave markers from the VA. Those markers may go to private cemeteries or cemeteries overseas. --- On the Net: VA Nationwide Gravesite Locator: http://www.cem.va.gov AP-WS-04-12-04 1916EDT ==== USCW-SEVEN_PINES Mailing List ==== Visit the Seven Pines website at http://www.thepastwhispers.com/Battle_of_Seven_Pines.html ============================== Gain access to over two billion names including the new Immigration Collection with an Ancestry.com free trial. Surnames: GOLIGHTLY WILSON EDDINS Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/HKB.2ACI/2008.1 Message Board Post: I don't know if any of this connects but here are some possibilities: Shemuel Wilson, son of Robert Wilson and Keziah Nicholson, married Parthenia Eddins, daughter of Joel Eddins and Judith White---- Shemuel also had a sister, Sarah E. Wilson who married Hugh Golightly both of whom are buried in Madison Co., AL--2 known children, Robert Hugh Golightly b/1822 and Emily W. Golightly b/Dec 1825 married Umphrey M. Campbell---- Now to further complicate things Shemuel Wilson's wife, Parthenia Eddins had a sister, Sarah Leah Eddins who married James Golightly--I have nothing on them other than they married--- About 1838, Shemuel Wilson and Parthenia Eddins Wilson migrated frm AL to Marshall Co., MS--- Shemuel died in Marshall Co., MS July 1855 and his wife, Parthenia was still living in 1860 as she is listed in the HH of son Robert Wilson--No futher info on her------ In closing one final item that might connect----Parthenia Eddins Wilson also had a brother, Benjamin Franklin Eddins who also came to Marshall Co., MS some time after his sister and her husband came. Marshall County court documents indicate the following: The following from "Marshall County Mississippi Probate and Will Records" compiled by Betty Wiltshire PG51 Nov. 25, 1845------Benjamin F. Eddins representing that he is a relative of James Golightly, a resident of this county and an insane man incompetant to attend his affairs, requests a writ of lunacy. Dec. 22, 1845----Request by Benjamin F. Eddens for an inquest concerning the lunacy of James Golightly. Court determined James Golightly was non compesmentis and "totally unqualified and incompetent to take care of his estate." Benjamin F. Eddens was appointed his guardian. ----- I believe this James Golightly is possibly the husband of Sarah Leah Eddins, sister of Benjamin and Parthenia Eddins-- Could he possibly be the father or even brother of your Parthenia Golightly???? I hope this is not too confusing---Feel free to contact me directly at softpatches@prodigy.net if you have other questions.
