06 March 2001 Hi List: I have just joined the list and I would like to post my interests. I am looking for information on my Great Grand Parents and their families. My GGF was William(Willie) T. TOLSON. He married my GGM Lula BENNETT on 02 JULY 1893 in Lowndes Co. MS. Lula BENNETT TOLSON gave birth to my GM Marquerite TOLSON ON 28 November 1894 in Natchez, Adams County, MS. Lula died on 16 Feb 1895 from complications of childbirth(actually) from Pneumonia at the age of 22 years old. She is buried at Smokey Plat in Natchez Cemetery. I do not know who the parents of these two people were. I do hav some info that William T. TOLSON might have been the grandson of a Mary TOLSON. He may have been born in OktibbehaCo., MS. about 1874. Lula (or Lucy) may have been daughter of a Joshua Bennett and his wife, a Emma______!! If anyone had information on these two families, please forward to me. I would be so grateful to anyone who can help me. My GM, Marquerite was put out for adoption and given a new name. Her new name was Emma Kate McKlemurry. She was raised down around Woodville, Wilkerson County, MS. She always wanted to know about her real parents. I tried, but could not find out anything before she died only 8 years ago. Please help!!! Hi, I first want to apologize if you get doubles, because I am posting this to several different list. I have just found another 'new' cousins, who gave me more information. He states that my first EDNEY, John, supposedly owned a ship, and brought prisoners over from Ireland. He had two sons, who were part-time preachers. Their names were Samuel and Ishmial/Ishmal, (I am guessing at this spelling). One of the brother's was going to preach for the other brother to marry a STEPPE? Something happened and the brother's had a misunderstanding of some sorts, and the families split. I do not know which 'side of the fence' mine fell on, and don't care! Anyway, a Samuel EDNEY, born 1734, married Mary KELLY? They had Robert EDNEY, born Feb. 15, 1770, locations, I don't know? Then Robert married and I maybe have a generation missing, because I have down that his son was Millard EDNEY, born Jan. 1857, in Fayette Co., AL. Millard was my great great grandfather. He married Martha Virginia 'Jennie' LAVENDER. Milliard (railroad man) and Jennie had: (probably not in order) John EDNEY, Claude EDNEY, Carniff Ruff EDNEY, (railroad man) Mary Keifer EDNEY, Carey Austin EDNEY, (miner) Wilma EDNEY, and Drue EDNEY. Mary Keifer EDNEY was my great grandmother. She was born 1881 in Columbus, MS. Mary Keifer EDNEY married Hezakiah Clark GORE. Millard and Jennie's family relocated around the Birmingham Jefferson Co., AL. area. Can anyone help me with any of my EDNEY's. I know that Martha Virginia 'Jennie' EDNEY and Claude EDNEY are buried in Elmwood Cem. in Birmingham, Jefferson Co., AL. But I can not find Millard. We could see the Vulcan light, (green or red, depending on a death that day I think), from her apartment, and she walked to work.) There was a park a couple of blocks from there. Several of her brothers worked for the Birmingham Newspaper Office. One of them was an artist. Most of them are buried in Elmwood Cemetery in Birmingham. Does anyone recognize any of these names?
