Anyone ever heard of a William Joe Roper ? b. July of 1867 in Alabama. He married Mary Jane Mattie Wilson b. Oct of 1869. They had 3 children: William Bill, Annie Hazeltina, Ruby. They were found on the 1900 census in Heidelberg, Jaspar County, Mississippi. He is listed as a Baptist preacher. They are found in Attala County, Mississippi on the 1910 census. By 1920 she has remarried. Rumor has it he had T.B. and boarded a train for New Orleans, and died while traveling to there. His wife never heard from him, or where he is buried. Thank you. Johnie
