I have not seen this book that tells the original name of a Loftin as you have it but had been told it was originally Laughton/Laughtin. I descend from Cornelius who is a brother of Leonard and they are the sons of the first Cornelius with land pattens/James City/Charles City, Va (18 Nov.1674). Of course, there are many Leonard' but this Leonard, I've been told, probably married an Elizabeth ...possibly Parker. Some people call him Ludovic Leonard Loftin. The Leonard Loftin I have, b 1654, PA, d 11 Apr 1720, Craven Co., NC, did m Elizabeth. His father was Leonard Loftin, b 1616 in England, wife unknown. Sons were William, Leonard, Cornelius. I have Delilah Stephens' father listed as Matthew Stephens. I don't remember where I got some of my sources. I do know some came from a book in the library in Lincoln Co., MS. Some of the places of birth that have been mention for Loftin/Lofton's are different from the ones I've seen here. Barbara
