I know the son was Samuel J.McCrary and my ancestor, Martha Ellen McCrary born August 31, 1816 was one of the girls. This leaves three daughters unaccounted for. They were listed thus: Lawrence Co., MS census listed as Matthew McRary..1 m 5/10; 1 m 40/50; 1 f u/5; 1 f 5/10; 1 f 10/15/ (this would be my Martha); 1 f 15/20; 1 f 40/50 According to a deed record, Lawrence Cty,MS records show that Mathew McCrary and wife Amelia sold land on BogueChitto River in 1835 so they were still alive then. My aunt who was born January 27, 1882 told me years ago that her grandmother was either a McCrary raised by the Edwards family or an Edwards raised by the McCrary family in Lawrence Co. As she was near 80 when she told me this, she couldn't remember for certain. Since she married in Carroll Co., MS in 1837 she didn't live with the Edwards family long if her parents both died in 1835. I know for certain she was a McCrary. Her tombstone has her maiden name as McCrary. I'm wondering if her sisters lived with the Edwards family also. I would love to find the missing three sisters. Anyone out there have a stray McCrary female? Ann
