Just a side note to this.......not really anything to do with this individual/family as such but would like to point out. A name such as this is not that unusual and I have seen several instances of "Commodore Perry"; I have several "Judges"as well as at least one "Major" in my own ancestry. This points out the need to always have a written record reflect a spelled out given name but NEVER a title - that should always be abbreviated. I know many spell out a title such as Major, Judge, Doctor, etc. but this can be easily construed as a given name if one is not careful. Does not happen that often but as this family shows it can.
