    3. Posted on: Lawrence Co. Ms Query Forum Reply Here: http://genconnect.rootsweb.com/gc/USA/Ms/Lawrence/508 Surname: GRISSO, SMITH, KANE, BATESEL, CHAPPELEAR ------------------------- The first information I received was in a newsletter that Julia Smith, [email protected], puts out on an intermittment basis. She had, William B. SMITH, born 26 Feb 1763 Moore, Cumberland Co., NC on colonial land records with witnesses and his wife listed. From there I went to the LDS www.familysearch.com web site and looked. There was a lot of submitters, but I zeroed in on one,a Kenneth Earl Smith Rt. 3 Box 74B, Brookhaven, MS 89601. I have not contacted him yet, but he seemed to have the most on that web site. Up until I did that, I or my father, had no idea of any SMITHs from or family living in MS. I am new at this and really just starting this side, my Dad's maternal side. So now that I have names, it is time to prove that they are siblings of Capt. Billy. I will keep in touch with the both of you and this query forum as I find new information.

I would like to know where and how you found his brothers and sisters. To date, I have never met anybody else who has been able to trace them. Where did you find the information? And are you willing to share with the rest of us? I would be glad to exchange information with you. I have the "Capt. Billy Book". In addition, I understand that there is a movement underway in Lincoln County to try to save the Old Saron cemetery. Do you know if there has been any progress in this endeavor?
