I have been looking for some time and cannot locate.............lots of books for medical, etc. but nothing on anything else. If anyone has any info on such an item I would really like to know about it also. Also, if interested, there is the "old" way to abbreviate military titles and the "new" which is now in use. The old is Lt. for Lieutenant, Capt. for Captain, Lt.Col. for Lieutenant Colonel, etc., etc. The new does away with the periods and goes to capitals so Lt. becomes LT, Capt. becomes CAPT and Lt. Col. is now LTCOL. I prefer, and use, the old. As for Commodore the old is Com. while the new is COM (no period). Interesting as a Navy/Coast Guard Commodore could now be JustMe.COM? Hmmmmmmmmmm....... Judge is Judg. Another item I need is military base location(s). I have family members born in base hospitals and I have no idea where these may be located..........some are no longer in existence. The data is usually written in a record with the assumption that everyone knows where *THE BASE* is. Anyone have anything on this? Sorry if this is getting away from Lawrence County genealogy............if anyone has ANY objection I think the thread should be dropped BUT I, for one, find it interesting. Tom M...............
