Dawson, former director of Lauderdale County Archives and History wrote a book on the Beason/Beeson family and the college. Jim Dawson is now deceased, but a copy of that book can be obtained from the Lauderdale County A&H, Court House Annex, Meridian, MS 39301. Incidentally my daughter and son-in-law at one time lived on that property (their first house). The huge magnolia trees dating back to the college were still there. Emma Lou Price
