Surnames: Strickland - Trussell Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/an/GJB.2ACE/977.1 Message Board Post: Though I have Stricklands in my ancestry, the latest was the John Strickland family who moved from Wake, NC to Robertson, Tn in the earliest 1800's. My ancestor was the daughter of that family who married Benjamin Trussell and last resided in Marion County, Tn. Descendants were in Neshoba, Ms. However I do know there is a large amount of Strickland information, mostly in the vertical files, at the public library in Pascagoula, Ms. The person who organized the genealogy section there was Jean Strickland. She and her husband Ben published many, many books of transcripts from various Ms counties. Naturally they would have received a lot of Strickland correspondence, as their names were rather well known in the genealogy world, though I don't believe they ever filled all of their own Strickland blanks... Pascagoula is the county seat of Jackson County but I don't recall the name of the library. Hope this is of help! Helen Kirkendall

Mamie Tartt, daughter of Jonathan Tartt, and Sarah Ann Tucker. According to 1920 Census he was 37 on 01-Jan-1920, and born in Alabama, where his parents were born. Children: Thomas, Kelly, James Willard m. Lena Clyde Walker, Jonathan, and Margarite m. "Red" Tinnin. If anyone has ANY information on Robert Strickland, or can help with finding additional information, it would be appreciated by the family.

I do not have either person listed in these records. That does not mean that your grandfather isn't related to these people, only that I do not have him listed. I have at least 1600 so far and I add relatives often. There are many Browns in the tree who moved to Texas or somewhere and there is no record of their children. There were a lot of Browns in the Kemper County area as well...suggest that you check there and also the massive Brown website on the internet. Good luck and sorry I couldn't help.
