I hope you're doing well. Yes, I'm still working on the 46th. I'm still transferring payroll records from microfilm. I have completed Companies A, B, G, I, & K. I'm nearly finished with Company C. After that I'll have only 4 more companies to go. My time to work on it is very limited since I have so many irons in the fire. But I work on it as often as I find the time. Let me know if you discover anything new about your grandfather that served in the unit. Likewise, I'll let you know how I'm progressing and when I finish. Thanks for the interest. Sammy

We've got to figure this thing out! Post or email me names of some of your McMullan relatives & I'll see what I can trace! WARDnMIDGE@cs.com In the meantime-if this helps at all- Thomas Gene, Sr. lived in Decatur, MS & lived 1894-1934. He married Ruth Hudson. Their children were "Baby Ruth" and Gene, Jr. (I'm not sure when he was born, but I think he died in Tupelo about 1991). Do these dates seem like they would mesh with your thoughts?

I was supposed to be named "Thomas Gene McMullan" after one of my fathers grandfathers, uncles, cousins or something like that. Well, Hello Distant Cousin !You might be able to open a part of the famliy that I know nothing about and I could do the same for you. That name was to be my fathers, but it was used on someone else in the family first. My mother did not like that name so it was passed over and not used on me. Drop me a e-mail at my e-mail hmcmullan@eatel.net. I only have 4 e-mail addresses but that is my personnal one.I use my work e-mail on here to ward unwanted viruses. Hope to hear from you soon!

They had 7 children: Annie Lee, Joe, Billy, Idell, Mary Lou, Tommy and Lucille. The siblings of Otto were:Lucille (Fox), Ida (Keith), Lee K., Thomas Eugene ("Gene"), Florence May ("Maidy"), Maude (Daniels) and Marcus Theodore. Otto was the son of Alice (Daniels) and Thomas Newton McMullan. Thomas Newton McMullan was a mayor of Hickory, MS at some point (according to his obituary) and later opened a mercantile store, McMullan & Sons. Do any of these names ring a bell for you? (I gave you the VERY abbreviated version!) Most of my ancestors are from Decatur and Hickory, but my parents were born and grew up in Meridian: Don Newton (son of Mary Lou McMullan and Fred Newton) and Coleta Farrell Newton (daughter of Leslie & Esther Farrell). Let me know how your search is going! ~Midge

Mary Margaret O'Neal Lillie Hinson M. O'Donell Mary Lila Hinson m. William Winsell Weekley Irene Hinson m. William Quinley (My Great Grandparents) Frank F. Hinson m. ? George Washington Hinson m. Hattie (Don't know maiden name) Margaret Boykin Hinson died in the 1880s leaving Ebenezer a widow. He married a 2nd wife named Margaret Roberson in 1900. They had a children in 1900 named James A. hinson, who was married alot of times. 2 of James' wives were named Celo Easterlie and Edna (Don't know madien name). Ebenezer died in 1928. I understand that Ebenezer's daughter-in-law, Hattie Hinson, the wife of George Hinson, died in 1990 in Merridian, MS at 97 years of age, so I think some of this Hinson family still lives around Merridian. I also have a whole bunch of old pictures that came out of My Great Grandma Irene (Hinson) Quinley's belongings that are unidentifiable to us Alabama folks. Some of these are VERY old and could be of some of this Hinson group. I would like to get these identified, bad. Thanks in advance, Leon Weekley, Bay Minette, AL
