Although it is possible that Catherine was pregnant with this Charles when Eli died. I do have a Charles William Miller as the 4th child of Ely Hall Miller and Mary Minerva Sanderford. This Charles William Miller was born March 05, 1878, and died March 08, 1878 - living only three days. You ask: Who did these other children marry? Ely H. Miller married Mary Minerva Sanderford. This is the descendant line I have for which primary records and research. You ask: Who were the parents of Eli T. MILLER? I don't have this information "yet" - but I keep looking. I do have (and you may already have the info for Edmund Rainey and Pheby Slayden (Catherine's parents). I have found some information in the Early Records of Georgia vol1 and 2 - Page 448. There may be linkages between these Miller familiy names and Eli Miller's parents. Remember that Eli and Catherine were married in Georgoa, hence my search for records in Georgia regarding Eli's parents. I'd be happy to share these with you directly if you are interested in helping ferret out Eli's ancestry. Thank you, Donna Lea Gear Loper (researching husbands Loper/Miller line) Dloper3@attbi.com

Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/GJB.2ACE/1015.1.1 Message Board Post: Emma, Thank you so much. You mention having several volumes--have all of the Lauderdale Co. cemeteries been surveyed and published at different times in different volumes? My 3rd great grandfather, Dempsey Blanks, and his brother William H. Blanks, came originally from Greene Co., GA. They were in Lauderdale Co. prior to 1850. William died there in 1859--I have found his death enumerated on the 1860 mortality census. William had a large number of children and the Blanks who were still/are still in Lauderdale Co. are more than likely his descendants. Dempsey had only 2 children--son John H. who died in 1853 and my 2nd great grandmother Frances who married Richard S. Cole and had left Lauderdale Co. by 1870. John H. Blanks did have 3 children before he died, 2 of whom were boys. So some of the Blanks in Lauderdale later might also be descendants of John (and Dempsey). I am especially interested in finding grave marker information on Dempsey Blanks and determining if there! were 2 men of this same name in Lauderdale Co. between 1840 and 1860/70. We do have a little mystery where that is concerned. I won't go into the lengthy details here, but will be happy to explain further if you want to know. In addition to Dempsey (mine died 1860 or later), I am also looking for his wife Mary who died between 1850-1860, & their son John H. Blanks who died in 1853. John's wife was Margaret Jane (maiden name Parker). I do not know if she eventually remarried after John's death, or might also be buried under the name Blanks. If you happen to see Dempsey's brother William H. Blanks and his wife Narcissa, that would be great, also. I have never had any contact with any Blanks descendants in Lauderdale Co. If you know any of them & they have any family/genealogy information at all, I would love to be in touch with them. I would welcome hearing from anyone who has any information on any of this family. Thank you again for your kind offer of assistance ! with the cemetery book(s). I will look forward to hearing from you again. Lavone

However, I was not asking you for any information on the Blanks family. I was responding to your posting of September, 2000 of a deed record for William L. Cole and his wife Harriett. On that posting you stated a surname of Cole & so I assumed, between the posting of a Cole deed record & your listing one of your surnames as Cole, that you were a researcher of/had information on the William L. Cole family. If you will re-read my posting, I mentioned the Blanks family as an explanation of why I believe my Richard S. Cole may be connected to the William L. Cole from your posting. My question to you was whether you had additional information on William L. Cole's family that might extend to his siblings & their children, since I suspect that my Richard S. Cole might have been William L. Cole's nephew. Have I misunderstood--is Cole not one of your family surnames & aren't you researching the William L. Cole family? My apologies if I have misunderst! ood and you are not a Cole family researcher.
