I'm looking particularly for records to help me with my Avant/Avents of Lafayette Co., and Panola Co. MS., such as copy of Wills from the Avant/Avent families. The farthest I have gone back on my African American Avants, is to Jarrett AVANT, who was b. about 1820, in VA. He received a pension from the Civil War (Confederate). He might have been with James B. (Buck?) AVANT, whom I found online Civil War history in the area of northern MS. Thanks, G. Hines
