    3. Hello, Bonnie and other CRAIG researchers. Thanks to the efforts of Mr. Chris B. Morgan who compiled and published the book "Yalobusha Bound", there is quite a bit of factual data on this family line. The information was researched by Lillian Magruder or Jackson, MS and submitted to Mr. Morgan for publication. On pages 162 - 165 of the book, this family's ancestry chart is reported as a footnote to Family #376, Alfred C. CRAIG, age 40, b. Limeston Co., AL and his wife, Sarah, age 40, b. TN. I'll see if I can retype this info below without typos: ===================== extract =========================== John CRAIG (1764-1852) was a son of James CRAIG, Sr. and his wife whose name is unknown. James CRAIG, Sr. (1735 - 1803) had three known sons: 1. David CRAIG (1758 - ?) 2. James CRAIG (2760 - ?) 3. John CRAIG (May 24, 1764, York Co., PA - Mar. 24, 1852, Limestone Co., AL), who married twice: first to Martha ____ (1765 - 1832); second to Jame ____, widow of Benjamin BENHAM, Feb. 18, 1834. His children, all by his first wife, were: a. Adam Hall CRAIG (c1875, Green Co., NC (now TN) - 1863, Lawrence Co., AL). b. James CRAIG (c1838, Blount Co., TN - May 26, 1863, Yalobusha Co., MS), who married twice: first to Susannah BRUNSON; second to Harriet ____. James apparently arrived in Yalobusha Co. late in 1850, having sold his home in Athens, Limeston Co., AL that year. The home there is still standing. The children of James CRAIG and his first wife Susannah BRUNSON were: ============== end of extract ============================== My eyes are getting tired, so instead of tying in the remainder, I did a search on the internet and found a posting for the CRAIG family, which contains essentially the same information but not as detailed. There is more detail in Yalobusha Bound than above, which I can provide at a later date if you don't already have that. I'm not including it here because I am assuming that since you already know James CRAIG and his wife, Susannah BRUNSON, that you'll have the lineage detailed up to that point. I hope this helps you in the direction you needed. Bill Ward Lookup volunteer, Lafayette Co., MS

    3. Thanks, for assisting this lady, Bill. I just don't have time to do look-ups. I will place her name on the Surname page. 3. Glad to help, Evie. I understand why you don't have time to help individually, with all the web sites you take care of. I have always wondered why people write to the county coordinator with such broad requests for assistance, and never think to look at the lookup page for assistance there. And they don't read the disclaimer on the home page that tells them you are not their personal research source (or at least it should say that, without being rude). I can understand why newbies do this, but it's the older, more experienced researchers that should know better. So why do bother? Because it's just the right thing to do, plus I've met many, many "cousins" that way, and received more information in return than 2 or 3 weeks of research would uncover for me. "Ye reap what ye sow", is a very true statement, I guess. Keep 'em coming; i'll help when I can. Bill Evie <texannusa36@yahoo.com> wrote: Thanks, for assisting this lady, Bill.
