Like you and she I believe she is related to Elizha and Silas Webb , since she was born in AL. I guess I will look in Pontotoc and Calhoun Counties for her Webbs, since she and GrandUncle James Alfred Crocker married in Lafayette County in 1875 (this is the correct year, I errorously stated 1878 in earlier post). She may have been living with relatives here in Lafayette County or her family could have lived in Pontotoc or Calhoun County and the Crocker men worked in both counties. I found where my Great Grandfather Miles Crocker was in Abbeville in 1877 buying a Shroud for a son. who I think was up there working and was killed. Oxford was closer to Paris, the home of Miles Crocker's family, to shop for a Shroud , why was he buying it in Abbeville. While doing other research Friday I discovered Abbeville was pretty rowdy in the 1870's. It had many saloons where men were often killed. Miles and Betty Crocker had a son Thomas Crocker who we thought died in S. C. before they came to MS in 1867 simply because he was not counted with the family in the 1870 census, but knowning many children were left off the census for some reason or another, I believe this son who he was buying the burial shroud for was Thomas bn in 1860. My point being that the men sometime met their spouses in their travels. But, what confuses me is this fact , they usually marry in the Bride's home or county. James Alfred Crocker's uncle and name sake, Alfred T. Bryant performed the cememony. He was a J. P. of Lafayette County at that time.
