    3. There is very little in published material about Lafayette County which give information on either the McIntosh or McGuirk families. Here are a few tid bits which may offer a clue to your questions, though. First, the 1960 Land Owners roll shows that H. D. McIntosh owned 80 acres of land valued at $1,000 and had personal property valued at $700. He harvested 600 bushels of corn and 6 bales of cotton that year. Next, abstracts of Co. C, 9th MS Regiment, CSA show that Corporal William L. McIntosh was enrolled by Capt. Delay March 27, 1861 at Oxvord for 12 months. He was a 20 year old farmer. Travelled to Pensacola via rail early in April and enlisted n CSA Army by G. Forney. ABsent on furlough for 25 days starting septemver 9, 1861 per physician's certificate. Discharge account of disability on December 3rd. Described as 20 years old, born in Georgia, five feet eight inches tall, fair complexion, haxel eyes and auburn hair. Lafayette Co. Marriage bond book 2, page 172 shows that Virginia McIntosh married S. B. Boweles on 10 April 1862; J. F. Moore, Minister of the Gospel officiated. Lafayette Co. Marriage bond book 3, page 368 shows that W. L. McIntosh married Alice McGuirk on 14 December 1871; J. M. Phipps, Mayor of Oxford, officiated and H. H. Hunt was bondsman. The will abstract of Joseph D. Willcox of Wyatt, Lafayette Co., MS, dated 24 Sept 1876, shows a relationship with between the McIntosh and the Willcox families. Rebecca Jane Willcox married unknown McIntosh and lived Austin Co., AR and Elizabeth M. Willcox married unknown Nash and lived in Harnett Co., NC. I hope that some of this might fill in a hole in your information and lead you to the next clue. Good luck. Bill Ward
