Hello, All: FYI, most of the people mentioned in this issue of the Carolina Spartan, were related to the following families, Crockers, Bryant, Kirby, Harvey and Vaughn and their descendants who migrated into the Paris, Lafayette Co Ms area in the 1850s and 1860s. The Bryants, Kirbys and Vaughns came in the 1850's . Miles and Bettie Bryant Crocker arrived in Dec of 1865, and Franklin Harvey and family arrived in 1868. Members of these families later moved onto Ar. , Tx. and Ok. The Gores of SC and Ga migrated into Calhoun Co. abt the same time. These families all inter married. Miles and Bettie Bryant Crocker arrived at Alfred Tolleson Bryants 1865 - as later comers stayed with each family until they found their land or moved onward west. For more facts and sources on these families , contact me, or join the SCSPARTA mailing list and the Piedmont Genealogy Historical assoc. also, the MSLafayette mailing list.
