There are only a few McKINNEYs listed in the Lafayette County, MS cemetery books compiled by the Skipwith Historical and Genealogical Society, but Charlote Miller McKINNEY is not among them. McKinney. Charlotte was living with the Joel Magnus Hadaway family in Beat 4 of Lafayette Co in 1920. She was claimed on this census as an aunt to the family. J. M. Hadaway married Nellie Gardner in Lafayette Co MS in the late 1890s. Nellie Gardner's mother was Mary Ellen Miller, a sister to Charlotte Mckinney. I do not believe that James and Charlotte Mckinney had any children to survive to adulthood. That is probably why she was enumerated in the Hadaway household in her senior years. Any help much appreciated. PS. I am hoping that Charlotte's trail will lead me back to James E. Mckinney so I can figure out when and where he died. ============================== Gain access to over two billion names including the new Immigration Collection with an Ancestry.com free trial.
