I think we've corresponded before in your research of the McKinney family and my research of the Miller family. Charlotte was a sister to my g-g-g- grandmother, Temperance P. Miller Davis. I'm glad I saw your post, as I'd not been able to find Charlotte on the 1920 census; her sister's obituary in 1931 stated she lived in Mathiston, MS, so I'd still been looking for her in either Oktibbeha or Webster Counties. I don't know exactly when or where she died; I suspect that she broke up housekeeping after James died and she visited around and lived with various sisters/nieces and nephews. You probably already know that there is a stone in Spring Valley Cemetery (north) in Webster County bearing the name fo "Jas. E. McKinney, Co. H 12 Tenn. Cav." with no dates of birth or death. Have you written for Confederate pension records for Charlotte? They are likely to reveal when and where James died, since she would have to sign up to receive his pension.
