Thanks Don't think that's the same one, but possibly a sister to Hiram Ray, that was father of my Nancy Ray. I believe Hiram had the following brothers and sister: Robert Ray, James Ray, and Mary Ray Cook Lakey. They were all born in North Carolina or South Carolina. The family seems to hvae traveled from N. C. to S. C. then to Georgia, into Alabama and then to Mississippi. There is another Nancy Ray listed on the 1850 census with the above mentioned Robert Ray (25 born S. C.). She is listed as 59 and born in N. C. This is possibly the mother of Hiram, Robert, and James, but I don't have proof or anything... Could the older Nancy Ray listed have been the one to marry the William Nunn and he have died and she taken back her other name, or could they have divorced? Robbie As far as I know they never divorced. She had children up until 1867 and he died in 1868. They had 10 children. I haven't found where she is buried or even William for that matter. Tonya
