    2. Lou, Noticed you have GOFORTH family. Can you tell me how you are related to them? My gg-aunt, Sarah Ann HANSON married Thomas Jefferson GOFORTH in Water Valley, Yalobusha Co., MS on May 8, 1868. When the Hansons decided to move from MS to TX around 1873-74, Sarah Ann and her husband were the only ones to stay behind--they owned some land there and did not want to leave it. Harriet

    3. Harriet My g-g-grandmother was Nancy Potts Goforth who married James Ira Eskridge in NC. They came to MS around the Civil War first to Chickasaw Co., later to Lafayette Co. I have varying information about when they moved. May have come from Spartanburg, Cleveland or other Co in NC--not sure. I don't have Thomas Jefferson in my data base. I have George T. Goforth's book and there are several Thomas J. & Thomas Jefferson. If you have his date of birth &/or death I'll see what I can find there. My Goforth line is Nancy Potts>George>Preston II>Preston I>William>William>Miles>George Preston Goforth II and his brother John Preston Goforth fought on opposite sides of the Battle of King's Mt. in Rev. War and supposedly shot each other to death. Such interesting stories to be found.
