Pam, You didn't sound sarcastic - I just didn't want others to think that I was looking to see if this man in a battle and not response to the 2nd part of my question about the battles. I don't know why he was in Lafayette Co. There were no relatives there - could be that he was just passing thur. I have his military records but they don't say anything but when he enlisted and where and that he was still in the war in late 1864. His death place was a complete shock to me when I rec'd the application for pension that his wife filed for his Mexican War pension (she didn't live long enough to apply for his Civil War pension) that would have possibly had more info.
