She is in his household in 1860 but not in 1870. I have been told she married John Wells, but he may not have been her first husband. John and Amanda (Harmon?) wells were living in Lee Co., MS by 1880. After John died, Amanda Wells married Richard Stepp in Union Co., MS in 1888. I don't know if she was married by 1870, living/working in some other household, or what? If you have any information about Amanda Harmon between 1860 and 1880, I would really appreciate your help.

Turn right and go east and northeast on CR296 for about 3/4 mile crossing Graham Mill Creek. Turn right just past the creek and go east on CR294 for 2 miles to a T intersection. Turn right and go southeast and east on CR244 for 3 miles. You have to bear left about 1/3 mile and 1.5 miles from the T intersection but it is still CR244. The 3 miles should take you to Bagley Bottoms Creek and some large ponds on your right. There are also some large silos on your right before you cross the creek. After you cross the creek, go maybe 1200 feet, over one small hill and park on the grade going up the next hill appx. 500 ft west of a barricaded road going north. After parking walk into the woods headed north near a power pole. The cemetery is on the first ridge north of CR244. It has some large cedars and only 8 or 10 stones but maybe a 100 sunken graves. Cemetery is located in the SW ¼ of the NE ¼ of! Section 4, Township 7 South of Range 2 West. Three of the surviving stones are for the John Lewis family, he was born in 1793 in Hartford, Conneticutt and ran a store at the mouth of the Tippah River, in a short lived town known as Lauderdale, just north of the cemetery and across the Tallahatchie in Marshall Co.

    3. THANK YOU! THANK YOU! THANK YOU! I knew there had to be a record that I was missing. This info also tells me who the Malone children are that are living with Abigail in 1850. Patsy must have died or something. I will have to look on that to see. I could not figure out who the children belonged to but knew they had to belong to one of the girls. This helps and gives me some new places to look. Once again thank you so much. Hope I can return the favor someday. Possibly many of the early graves were marked with wooden headstones as the town of Wyatt was declining prior to the Civil War and what remained was burnt by the Yanks. There are 3 or 4 stones for the Estill family who were storekeepers in the town, a Billingsley, a Leeton, and a Nicholson. The cemetery is enumerated in the Lafayette County Cemetery Book. Sorry no Venable's or Caid's.

    3. I am looking for information on George B. Zollicoffer Jr. and Abigail Nicholson who married in Williamson County, Tn on 18 Dec 1810. George was born 14 Feb 1870 in Halifax County, North Carolina and died 8 Jul 1843. I am not sure where he died but the next record of I have of Abigail is in 1850 in Lafayette County, Mississippi. Abigail is listed as being born about 1790 in Halifax County, North Carolina. I have found her on the 1850 census as noted above. Then in 1860 and 1870 she is in Ellis County, Texas. I have not located in 1880 so I am assuming she died sometime after 1870 but before 1880. She was 77 years old in 1870 indicating a birth of about 1793. I have seen the following children listed as their children - William Ferdinand Zollicoffer (1818-1861), Amanda Nicholson Zollicoffer (?), Nancy Lindsey Zollicoffer (?), Bostir Willade Zollicoffer (?). I have not found record of these kids listed with the family on any census record so just have the internet sources for them. Listed with Abigail in 1850 are Edward Christopher Zollicoffer, James Calvin Zollicoffer, and Oscar Mortimore Zollicoffer. In 1870 she is living with James and his family in Ellis County. Living in Hill County, Texas is the family of Edward Zollicoffer. The 1820 census indicates that there were 3 daughters born between 1810 and 1820 and 1 son. The son would be William if internet sources are right. I am assuming 2 of the girls are Amanda and Nancy but am not sure who the 3rd daughter would be. I am not sure where the dates have come from on William as I have not been able to locate him in 1850 or 1860. I have looked in Maury County where the family lived as well as Mississippi and Texas where the family went after George died. Any info on this family would be great. So far I just have the Internet sources and the few census records I have located. They are not a direct line for me but are in my line through George Zollicoffer's grandmother, Anna Lindsay.
