He married Francis Vaughn abt. 1856 in Water Valley, Mississippi. She was born abt. 1811 in Mississippi (another version suggests she was born abt 1801 in North Carolina). I am descended from their son William Elbert Rook Lindsey. I suspect we could help each other out. Cullen and Francis are as far back as my data goes on that line, but it would be fun to fill in any descendency blanks and learn how we are related. Naturally I am interested in anything further back than that, that you might have. I always get a kick out of finding a cousin online through genealogy research! Naomi Hunt (neƩ Hodges)

    3. Hello, All: FYI, most of the people mentioned in this issue of the Carolina Spartan, were related to the following families, Crockers, Bryant, Kirby, Harvey and Vaughn and their descendants who migrated into the Paris, Lafayette Co Ms area in the 1850s and 1860s. The Bryants, Kirbys and Vaughns came in the 1850's . Miles and Bettie Bryant Crocker arrived in Dec of 1865, and Franklin Harvey and family arrived in 1868. Members of these families later moved onto Ar. , Tx. and Ok. The Gores of SC and Ga migrated into Calhoun Co. abt the same time. These families all inter married. Miles and Bettie Bryant Crocker arrived at Alfred Tolleson Bryants 1865 - as later comers stayed with each family until they found their land or moved onward west. For more facts and sources on these families , contact me, or join the SCSPARTA mailing list and the Piedmont Genealogy Historical assoc. also, the MSLafayette mailing list. 3. article from the 'Carolina Spartan' , April, 1892 [Spartanburg , S.C.] MR. W.L. COLEMAN, near Pacolet [ Spartanburg Co.], went out to Mississippi four months ago to visit friends and relatives. He has 2 brothers, CHRISTOPHER COLEMAN and REUBEN COLEMAN in Lafayette county. The former has been there 19 years , the latter, 40 years. He saw many Spartanburg and Union Co. folks in that part of the country, amongst whom are the GARNERS, KIRBYS, MOSELEYS, BAILEYS and HODGES. They are generally doing well and have fair churches and schools facilities. The farmers are generally better off than the farmers here. After spending 2 months in Mississippi, he went to Yell county, Ark., there he felt at home because he met relatives and friends; JOHN LEMASTER and JOHN ELMORE there ... 3. There is very little on this family in Lafayette Co., MS in published material. I did a thorough search of all my books plus a quick look at the census images and came up with only the following: R. M. Kelly married Mrs. M. A. Wisinger 22 Nov 1882 Lafayette Co., MS (I could not find a record of the death of Mr. Wisinger in the county.) Lou Holmes married W. S. Weissinger 09 Oct 1872, DeSoto Co., MS 1850 census, page 83 Wiley B. Weisinger, 29, male, sltudent, born AL Jemima M. Weisinger, 17, female, AL (There was no record of this couple's marriage in Lafayette Co., MS records; probably married outside the county or in AL.) I threw in the next extract because it was the only other MS group of this family I could find quickly. There may be more. 1850 census, Carroll Co., MS Alexander Weissinger 30 1819 Georgia Male Southern Division, Carroll, MS Cordelia Weissinger 24 1825 Alabama Female Southern Division, Carroll, MS George J Weissinger 7 1842 Alabama Male Southern Division, Carroll, MS James M Weissinger 5 1844 Alabama Male Southern Division, Carroll, MS William S Weissinger 3 1846 Alabama Male Southern Division, Carroll, MS Cordelia Weissinger 9.12 Mississippi Female Southern Division, Carroll, MS Bill Ward, Pottsboro, TX

    2. This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. Surnames: Nabors Cain,Churchwell,Gullick Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/an/AKB.2ACI/637.640.643.1.1 Message Board Post: The books that I refer to are Nabors/Nabers/Neighbors/Nabours It is written by Grover Clevlend Nabors who was a physician in Texas. I am unsure if you can still buy the books. I bought mine from him several years ago. The last address that I had is no longer a good address. Not all Nabors familys are listed. At some point I guess he wrote to familys and ask for info. All info is not correct., due to wrong info being sent to him. Maxine
