Yes, I did make a typo, but not the one you think. The citation should read bond book 4, not 5. The entry in the bond abstract book reads E. L. Palmer, not H. L. And I checked all the other names on the census rolls but did not find them listed, plus I checked surrounding counties, to no avail. Another list subscriber just informed me that if they lived in the Paris area, many families were overlooked in the 1870 census, which could account for why I couldn't locate these people. This was a rather simple one. Marriage bond book 5, page 228 records the marriage between E. L. Palmer and Sallie A. Moore on 23 February 1875. J. F. Moore, minister of the Gospel, officiated and W. D. Moore was bondsman. Connor Moore gave consent for his daughter to marry. I tried very hard to locate H. L. Palmer on the 1870 census and other records, in the hopes I could discover his given name and perhaps his parents and siblings, but no luck. Similarly, I did not find Sallie Moore nor her father on the 1870 census for Lafayette Co. beckpaulbeck@aol.com wrote: This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. Sallie was born in June 1855, so assuming she was at least 15 when wed and knowing that she married Henry Ramzy (Ramsey) in 1882 as a Palmer she would have wed the Palmer man between 1870 - 1882. ============================== Find your ancestors in the Birth, Marriage and Death Records. I went through the search engine for the 1930 census for all states and did not find a Jack Keiith Franklin, Jack Franklin, Keith Franklin or Jack K. Franklin born 1921 - 1923. Apparently, he was known by another name on that census or was missed by the census enumerators. He is buried 3 plots away from Davil L. and Estelle H. Franklin, born 1887 and 1888 respectively, so they could possibly be the parents; however there was no male child in their household in 1930. It looks like you have a real puzzle.

Merry Christmas, Sandra. This cold winter morning I'm enjoying a hot cup of coffee and cleaning out my inbox. Hi, I hope this will come together, but, allow me to advise you to wait for warmer weather for your tombstone repair. Any type of epoxy needed dry warm temperture to set . When do decide todo this, let me know and I will post it on my Lafayette County MSGenWeb page. I have been interested in tombstone repair for a number of years. I have a book of instructions in my possession which a lady in Canada wrote three or four years ago and very kindly send me a copy. Plus, there are several web sites dedicated to this subject which is very good. One is owned by a man who is making this his profession now. I will look these up and also find my book and send you the address as to were to order it. 2 part Epoxy is not very durable, it will last awhile but not like some of the methods mentioned in this book. It would be better to take a portable drill with mason bit and six inch rods and drill into the bottom and top, place the rods in the bottom, then set the top up on it with the epoxy. If you are interested in me posting the address of the lady in Canada and/ or the web pages , let me know. I would be interest in helping here if some of you would assist me at the Crocker family Graveyard abt 8 to 10 miles west of the Webb on CR428 toward Paris. Please, note the last sentence below on John J. Bogard: "He was released to stay North of the Ohio river after his oath of Allegiance." The way I read this, like so many other Confederate soldiers, he was told were to live, this was why so many of our men left N. C and S. C. , the Union was separating the strong families, who had many sons. So, You might find him buried north of the Ohio River. I have, also, found that many family legends are incorrect. If he came back to MS. he was breaking the law or was given permission. Evie Crocker Lafayette Co. This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. Surnames: Sharp, Webb, Davis Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/AKB.2ACI/1259 Message Board Post: It would have to be late spring or early summer for the epoxy to dry on the headstones and for it to be warm enough to enjoy the day. It'll probably take me that long to get enough people interested. Could we set it for the last Saturday in May? This would be the Memorial Day weekend. Let me know what you all think and what other plans others may have for this weekend.

There are 5 headstones that are broken in this cemetery and one of them is John Johnson Sharp. He was my 3rd great-grandfather. I have already talked to someone about how to repair these and he suggested using a 2 part epoxy. This has been purchased, but it turned cold weather and I have not been back over there. To sum it up, how would all of you like to set aside a Saturday and have a work-day at this cemetery. This could be made into a reunion of all us cousins and we could share information in person. My sister and I would help set this up if anyone is interested.

Thank you Bill for taking the time to look in your books. Matthew McCrary has been a proverbial brick wall for us--we can't identify his parents or when or where he died. Happy holidays to all, Harriet
