The story has it that Emit got as far as the Harmontown area in Lafayette County, MS where he met and fell in love with his Sarah Frances and that Alonzo went on to Texas. We know that Emit Reynolds Williams (1853-1917) married Sarah Frances “Fannie” Rayborn (1858-1921) in 1878 and that the couple had the seven children listed below. Did he own a store on Hwy 30 outside of Oxford. My grandmother, Beulah Stephens was married to George Prentiss Adams in 1916 when their son John Henry Adams was born but Prentiss Adams was also married to a Willie Littlejohn and had a son, Durley Adams. Who are buried in the Cambridge Cemetery. I just want to say that I enjoyed many trips to that store. I grew up in Abbeville. Robert Elcho McLarty was my grandfather. Good to find people that I might connect to, one way or the other.
