    1. Re: [MSLAFAYE] Ole Miss 1941 yearbook
    2. Evie, My computer crashed right after the Rita threat and I lost all of my archived e-mails so that will be no help. And, unfortunately, I do not remember the name of the book... So sorry! I have been searching for photos of the family for the article that I am writing on Wash and Fanny Price. Both Huldric and Bem remained in the area and died in 1903. Even though the family lost considerable assets during the war, they appeared to be financially comfortable in later years. I agree with you that there should be photos in existence of them somewhere! Belle and Bem didn't have children, so your museum archives idea may be a good source. I have seen photos of Ammadelle in a couple of the Skipwith books, but no photos of the couple. Huldric & Lucy had several kids that as far as I know, remained in the area. I'm trying to locate descendants in hopes of finding some photos and more memorabilia . 3. Debra, I have a booklet the Oxford Chamber puts out called "WALKING TOUR , OXFORD , MISSISSIPPI " in it are sketches of the Old homes near the Courthouse Square. "AMMADELLE" IS INCLUDED, brief description state: ca. 1859 637 North Lamar Designed by well-known architect, Calvert Vaux, this Italianate villa was begun in 1859. The House was used as the home of a character in the 1950 MGM's movie, "HOME FROM THE HILLS, filmed in Oxford." This upsets me because I know it has more important history than they gave. There are several that was treated in this matter , not mentioning who owned them in the beginning. I will wait on your article then, would you please send me a copy to place in the Local History and Family History files of Skipwith Genealogy Society. Thank you, Evie --- dkfrancis@msn.com wrote: > Evie, > My computer crashed right after the Rita threat and > I lost all of my archived e-mails so that will be no > help. The Gardner name, (which has many different spellings) is listed in my father's family ancestry. A lot of West Virginians (Virginia prior to 1863) moved to Kentucky, and still do so. Ohio is another state to check out. These states were hunting grounds and home for many Native American Indians as well as frontiersman.
