Was surprised to learn of "Webb" cemetary near Paris. It is not why I ask the question, but since you mentioned Webb, let me tell you my connection. My great-grandmother was SALLY ANN WEBB. She married Miles Crocker in Spartenburg County SC, and they came to that area of MS. Sally Crocker is buried in the Crocker Cemetary; however, I am now wondering if her family may have also come to MS when the Crocker family did. Sally Ann's father was named John Webb and was active in a Baptist Church in SC. I know that is not much of a clue, but it is all I know.

I'm looking for information on a William Elvis SMITH b:1913 d:1985 married a Ruth NUNN b:1918 d: 1992 Both are buried at Pine Flat Cemetary.. William Elvis SMITH is the son of Joseph Marion SMITH b: 1875 d: 1943 who married Lou Rena MILES b: 1879 d: 1946 They are also buried at Pine Flat Cemetary in Lafayette County,Ms.. I notice that two of these cemeteries have the same name as "communities" east of Bruce, MS on Hwy. 32. Follow blacktop 1.1 miles and you will see a white house with fence on the left. Cemetery is located about 1/2 mile behind the house. Pilgrims Rest..........Goring north from Bruce on 9 W Turn left on County Rd 371 (turn right if going south from Oxford) A few miles on the right you will see a pumping station for the Water association. Take 1st blacktop road past the pumping station. Blacktop ends and gravel begins. RE: McCain I am seeking information of the following McCain's and their ties to Lafayette County in the 1840-1850's. Littleberry McCain who resided in Laf County from at least 1849 (possibly as early as 1842) until at least 1853, (possibly as late as 1859). He was there with his wife Elizabeth, son Julius who was born in Ga. in 1841. While in the county they had three more children, John Thomas, James S. and Elizabeth G., who may have been called Betty. William McCain , 26 horsetrader, William 28, horsedealer, Nancy McCain and Thomas C. McCain - all of whom lived in Laf. Co at the time of the 1850 Census as did Littleberry's family.
