Hello List, Hope all had a good Holiday.....My son-in-law was out riding with his dad this week-end...They left Pontotoc, MS and went west to Oxford, MS on Hwy.6, they turned left (south) at Denmark and went back into a, maybe a national Forrest?? A wooded area of a type.....Anyway, he came across about 3 cemeteries that had dates back to the 1700's. Now he's not really into this thing of cemeteries, but mentioned this to me? Does anyone know this area and what the name of these cemeteries might be?? I'm very interested in the Bland family of this general area and was wondering?? ANY Type of help would be appreciated!! Peggy
Does anyone have a copy of this photo they would share? The names of the students in the photo are on Rootsweb, but no photo. Deb, who contributed the names, will you share the photo? I have scads of relatives in the picture! Thanks.
My Mom, Vada Herring Deckard also went to Oxford, MS for part of her nurses training. The training was in the hospital, which was Culley's or Bramlett's. It was also during this time period that she went to them, but she graduated from Water Valley Hos. under Dr. George Brown. Donna Hollowell
I have no information on this person.

I just came across this forum. Ina Pearl married to William Lee Bankston moved to Tunica, Tunica County, MS. They are buried on HWY 4 west of Tunica. Their granddaughter still lives near Tunica. Her name is Banky Godbold. I don't have much information on this branch, but I hope this will help. William Lee was my grandfather's Uncle. Good Luck, Patrick Bankston
Hi Robbie, I'm back home. Had a good trip. Is this Ray family related to William Ray that married Armentia Garner, daughter of John Anderson Garner and Sarah Elizabeth Sharp. I've corresponded with someone related to this family but can't remember exactly who right now. They might be a member of our John Johnston Sharp list but I'm not sure. Hi all, I was driving to work this morning and heard of a wonderful new site which may help many of you in your research or personally. Apparently, dog tags from individuals who served in Vietnam who were either missing in action, killed in action, or simply individuals who lost their tags are being sold in Ho Chi Min City on the streets. There are a group of blessed individuals who are buying these up and making them available free of charge to family members of these individuals. The site is called www.founddogtags.com. I hope it can be of help to you or your loved ones. Harriet, It is highly possible this is so. My family came in from the Carolinas through GA/AL and settled in Tallahatchie, MS. I understand some moved on to TX. I will happily share with you what I have. Edith
Hi Edith, I'd be interested to know if your Hensons in MS came from AL and/or GA. My Hanson/Henson family moved from AL to MS in 1863, then came on to TX around 1873. (Some Brewers associated with the family also.) Harriet
Nick, I will write to Veto's son. Thank you for that info. Do you know of his father Vess McKinley Brewer. My Kuykendalls were from around Tallahatchie Co. too. Been trying to locate all I can, seems my wall is Tallahatchie Co. Thanks to you, some of that wall crumbled. Hope you have a nice 4th. Edith Parker Wetumpka, Al
