    2. The names in your posting looked familar. My gg grandfather was Danison Brown and had a brother Thomas Henry Brown. They came originally from Union Co., SC, settled in Walker Co., Ga and Chattanooga from 1850 to late 1860 and reached Lafayette Co, Ms bef 1870. Thomas is buried at Free Springs Church on the north side of Sardis Lake.

    3. Bill-- Great news that we're on the same track... with a last name as common as Brown, you never know. The seem to be everywhere! I'm also following a Williams line... just as frustrating! I would be interested in your information on your great-great grandparents. I have heard by rumor that Thomas Dixon Brown was the child of Thomas George Brown, but I've never been able to confirm that. Any thoughts? I also have a few photos you may be interested in-- one of Susie Drucilla Hart's parents (Susie married Henry Christian)-- their names were Richard Herron Hart and Almyra Shaw. One of Olga Brown and her husband Charles Taylor, and their mother Elizabeth Brown (Elizabeth was Thomas Dixon Brown's wife)... a photo of Thomas Dixon Brown's tombstone at Mt. Zion Church... a photocopy of the 1860 census showing Thomas Dixon Brown, wife Elizabeth, Wesley age 5, Emily (Emma Jane) age 3 and Henry age 1. Here's more good news: Elizabeth, Thomas Dixon Brown's wife, was a Hunter. The Hunter family can be traced to the 1700's in Ireland... and Elizabeth Hunter's mother was a Christian... the Christian line can be traced back to the 1500's in England. Not bad, huh? Again, once you've had time to absorb this info., I'd love to swap stories. I'd be really interested in any photographs you may have that I could get copies of. I have a scanner here at my place, so anything you'd like a copy of, just let me know and I'll send it on its way! :) Hope things are going well down there in Florida-- I checked out your website-- what a wonderful thing you all are doing down there! As for me and my family... we're up in Saint Louis, MO. :) Stacey ----Original Message Follows---- From: [email protected] Reply-To: [email protected] To: [email protected] Subject: [MSLAFAYE] Re: Brown Family Date: 12 Aug 2001 18:07:51 -0600 My great grandfather is Thomas Brown Jr married to Betty Jumper.
