Pleas(Pleasant)Pettus, was my great grandfather. You have the wrong spelling of their names, Correction on their name spelling. Rev. Isom Pettus, and Pleas Pettus, they are brother in Laws of Rchard C. Moseley. Laura's brothers, Keep in mind that their father's name is also Pleas(Pleasant)Pettus. There are about 4 or 5 Pleas Pettuse, so you have to be careful in recording the information on them , By checking the year of birth. William V. Rainey b. 1810 VA was in Kemper Co., MS in 1840, 1841 and 1845. By 1860 he was living in Lauderdale Co., MS. He was a Captain in the Confederate Army. J. D. Miller, who was living with this family in 1860 was William's nephew, a son of Catherine Hall Rainey Miller and Eli T. Miller. Catherine is my direct ancestress. I would love to compare notes with you if you are related to these lines. Somebody let me know if these Rainey went to Texas later.
