She was killed by her husband, John Merrill, in 1938. They both are buried at Blackwater Church Cemetery. I would like any information that I can find on this death and what the consequences were for John Merrill. I have been told he got away free as a bird. My grandmother, Hibernia's sister, said at the time she learned of her sister's death, "I knew he would kill her eventually."
