I'm trying to find anything else about William when he lived in Mississippi as a young man. His mother was named Harriet Banks she lived in Kemper county also I think in Porterville. William was mullato, his father was William Davenport who lived in Porterville, Kemper County also. I haven't been able to find a birth record for William. no information about his mother either. One time i heard that he might have been born in Meridian but haven't found any truth to that either. I'm grateful for any information. Or where i can write to for information.
