Date: Tue, 19 May 2009 13:56:16 +0000 If I'm not mistaken, Christine Mosley lived in an "old" white house down your way. On the way to Timberview Lodge...do you know where that is? At the end of Firetower Road, take a left, then at the end of that road take another left, and the house is just on the right. Know you can follow these directions(HA). Don't know much about the history of the house. Joyce Craig McCoy Aust can probably answer your questions, when you come South again. Have a good day. Am off to do Relay for Life stuff. cp ------------>: -------------- Howdy...just wondered if you had ever heard of any of these folks? > From: [email protected] > To: [email protected] > Date: Sun, 17 May 2009 17:58:06 +0000 > Subject: Re: [MSKEMPER] Dr.James Bartlett Ramsey and the Dr Young House 1840's ? > > This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. > > Author: aw280zx > Surnames: > Classification: queries > > Message Board URL: > > http://boards.rootsweb.com/localities.northam.usa.states.mississippi.counties.kemper/1654.1/mb.ashx > > Message Board Post: > > There is a picture of this house in the Kemper County Mississippi Pictorial History book. It says: "Family records indicate that a Dr. Young came to southwest Kemper County around 1810 and built a home tat is now (1999) owned and occupied by Mrs. Christine Webb McLaurin Mosley. This home was sold to a Dr. Ramsey about 1820. He is credited with building a water mill on Pawticfaw Creek that was finally owned by Mr. R. C. Keeton." I have 3 other books on Kemper County but will need to look for them because we moved recently and haven't unpacked all the boxes of books yet. Hope this helps.
