Perhaps they were members at a later date. Records I have available show that in the 1850 census there were these Stewarts: 537 Stewart, Andrew J 1095 Stewart, Franklin 37-38 Stewart, Franklin 620 Stewart, Hays 1221 Stewart, Jack 61 Stewart, J. 9 Stewart, Jas. 1148 Stewart, John 49 Stewart, John 1175 Stewart, Joseph 47 Stewart, Mrs. 984 Stewart, Wedrick 934 Stewart, William H. 30 Stewart, Wm. H. The cemetery records list these graves (the first one looks like the David you're looking for): Steward (sic), D. W. Nov 15, 1841-Sep 8, 1898 "husband of S.S. Steward (sic)" husband of Sallie S. Dorough, parents of G. W. Stewart Stewart, Annie Myrtle Oct 28, 1904-Sep 13, 1905 "daughter of T. J. & Emma Stewart" Stewart, Sallie S. Mar 1, 1843-Jan 16, 1905 Maiden name Dorough, first name most likely Sarah; wife of D. W Stewart/Steward Stuart, G. W. Nov 27, 1870-Jan 8, 1905 George W., 1st husband of Mattie___, & they, parents of their only child, Henry Clay Stewart Hope that helps - good luck on your search!
