    2. CAROLYN COLE
    3. I am researching Floyd Hardin of Kemper County, a white man 39 years old. I recently got his death certificate and he died of a gun shot to the forehead on 26 May 1913. Can anyone elaborate on this murder? Help appreciated. Carolyn Cole I am researching these lines: Martin, Scott, Harden, Boyd, Boren, Stevens, Green, Brown, Gibson, Whitaker, Perkins, Bullen, Richards, Barlow, Herrington, Lowe, Mahaffey, Sturdivant, Dixon, Dear, Walker, Allbritton, Perrett, Cole, Roberts/Robinson > From: [email protected] > Subject: MSKEMPER Digest, Vol 8, Issue 23 > To: [email protected] > Date: Tue, 9 Jul 2013 01:00:23 -0600 > > > > Today's Topics: > > 1. Her father was Archibald Perkins who was born in Scotland. I do not know her mothers name. She was born in NC in 1823. She married William Perkins and had two children: Archibald and William Elizabeth. William Perkins died in 1863. She died in Neshoba County in 1916, but had a house in Kemper County and was buried in Smyrna Presbyterian Cemetery. Any information that anyone has will be greatly appreciated. > > Important Note: > The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list. Head of household is Archie McKellar, age 47, born North Carolina, and a Sarah McKellar, age 67, born North Carolina. In 1880, Elizabeth, Willie and Archie Perkins are still living with Archibald McKellar, and Elizabeth is listed as his sister. There is another sister, Sallie, age 77, also. > > The Sarah McKellar in the 1870 census may be their mother, but more research would be needed. Sarah McKellar is also buried in Smyrna Cemetery, along with A. L. In the 1850 census, there is Archer Kellar, age 73, born NC; Margaret Kellar, age 65, born NC; Sarah age 35; Dugal age 34; Flora age 33; Elizabeth age 30; and Archer, age 28 (blurry; could be 38). I suspect this is the same family as in my earlier post, which would make Margaret a possible mother to these adult children. > > Important Note: > The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list.
