The original ancestor John Ross was from Scotland but details are still in question. There are many family trees showing him from Inverness Scotland and being born in 1695, but this is a guestimate of Ross Chappell in his book THE ROSS FAMILY BEGINNING IN 1734 HANOVER COUNTY VIRGINIA. My research shows John Ross from Glames, Angus, Scotland born 1702 and possibly married to Sarah Harris b.1705 in Virginia. It is something still up in the air and needs further research.
