I found Bennington GIBSON in the censuses in Kemper Co., from 1837-1845. Same man? In 1852 he was in St. Louis, MO where he died. Does anyone have any info on Bennington in Kemper, MO. I'm going to post also in Lauderdale County just in case. I have the 1900 census and he's listed with lots of siblings. his parents were Henry Bell Key and Mary E. Moore-Key. Mary is also listed sometimes as Mollie. I found an Alonzo that died June 28, 1959 in Chatham, Georgia but I'm not positive if he's the same Alonzo I'm looking for. I would like to know if he had a wife and children. So far I can't find any information on but two of the siblings..and that's because I knew them Lena and Pearl Key I knew..the other I never knew anything about. Hopefully someone will have some information about Alonzo. Thank you Shap Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list. Go 22 miles on Hwy 45 and take the first left after the turn to Porterville. Go about 4 miles on Townsend-Porterville Road and take a left at the sign for Bay Springs. The church is on the right. My husband calls the area Puckettville since many decendents of William Henery Puckett still live there, but it is really called the Townsend Community. You are right about Waitus Puckett's wife, I had it wrong. Don't know where he is burried. Not sure if Rush Mill is still there. Just south of DeKalb,Ms off Hwy 39 is where it was. The road used to be called Firetower Road but the map calls it DeKalb-Porterville Road. This road cuts across to Hwy 45 and comes out @ Porterville. You can go to Google Earth and type in DeKalb or Porterville Ms or Bay Springs Baptist Church and see exactly where everything is. I would appreciate those names. Hope this info helps. If you have any questions about the area let me ! know. Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list. Hope some of you are still active on it. My records go along with the Rev. Thomas Judson Hand. To see more info on the Klondike Cemetery go to my website: www.alandmary.org Go down to Brame/Hand Cemetery and click. You can see both a diagram and a listing of stones as they existed 20 to 30 yrs ago. I would like to call your attention to item 9, "Bertha and Jerrod, Infants of Dr. J. C. and L. V. Spinks". These are Dr. John Clark Spinks and Laura Victoria Hand who moved to Shubuta and are buried there. The infants' stone really needs to be moved to the Spinks lot in Shubuta because in a few years the Klondike cemetery will be gone. My family has already moved to Liberty Cem. a stone for Charles Edward Brame, my gr grandfather, and wife Emily Hand, sister of above Laura V. Hand. I have some info on the people buried in both Klondike and Liberty. Let me know if you are interested. My mother unsuccessfully tried to find a connection between the Klondike Hands and my Grandmother Hand of Jones, Clark, Wayne, etc. of south Miss. I was glad to see what John Presley Spinks said about where his Hands were from. I doubt if we can connect them. John Presley Spinks, I assume you descended from the John Clark Spinks family. We may have communicated in the past. Sue Key and Kathy Murry--If you are still into genealogy, let me hear from you.
