Author: mbmjlm Surnames: Classification: queries Message Board URL: http://boards.rootsweb.com/localities.northam.usa.states.mississippi.counties.kemper/67.267.1/mb.ashx Message Board Post: Steve, I don't usually follow Kemper County but in this instance, I have some data on a Mississippi Chisholm family. This is William Alexander Chisholm, born 9/12/1856 in Mississippi-died 7/1/1942 in Austin, Travis Cty, Tx. He was husband of Martha Ellender Gaughf born 1/26/1857 in Georgia, died 5/19/1943 in Austin, Travis Cty, Tx. I was wondering if the book you purchased included anything about this person. The Gaughf family is related to some of the families I research in Georgia and also concerns Texas, my home state. Another research family concerns the Gully family of Kenper County, Ms as it relates to the Hull family. Ezekial Gully's daughter Winifred was the wife of James Wallace Hull.Their daughter Martha married Charles Sinclair. The Sinclairs are related to my husband's Marchant family line. The Gaughf line also relates to my husband's Marchant line. Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list. My great grandmother was Indiana Swanson Chisholm Calvert (1845-1933) and she married David Calvert (d. about 1920), David had a brother, Adam. All lived in Kemper County through the 1870s at least. Indiana and David moved to McLennan County TX near Waco, where my grandfather was born. I am particularly interested in the"Chisholm Massacre" in Kemper in 1877, which involved Indiana's brother William Wallace Chisholm and his two children Cornelia and Johnnie.
