You should contact Ben Strickland Publishing, P.O.Box 5147, Moss Point, MS 39563. His two volume set, Residents of the Mississippi Territory, Miscellaneous, Books 2A and 2B, contain many references to those names. As an example, the Spanish Census of 1792 lists Guillermo (William) Barland as having 500 acres, 12 horses, 15 cows, 60 hogs, etc., in the Districto de Santa Catalina (St. Catherine, Adams County). Also present was Juan (John) Bisland with 3450 acres, 50 horses, 100 cows, 20 sheep, 100 hogs, etc. Germain has two references, Shipp has six references, and Henderson has 32. Barland has 8 and Bisland has 12 references. As you can see, this far exceeds what we can easily cite to you. Besides, the Barland reference on page 14 of Vol. 2A, is something that might really surprise you (and others). George R. Lewis
