    3. List here are a few notations from a few of the Rodney church notes. The years I have are 1916-1923. They have not been transcribed and are very hard to read in places. My grandfather A.W. Duck and elder E.L. Beck are mentioned in almost every entry. Some meetings where apparently held in Mr. Beck's store. It is obvious from these notations that the church was being maintained by the older members as no children are listed in roll call. They are very clear on this point. A.W. Duck apparently preached at Rodney two times a month and spent other Sundays at Red Lick and Hermanville. By the time he left Rodney in 1923 they where down to 16 members. The last mention of a child from the notes I have (mine are not complete) is on Sept. 24, 1916-"at the close of service Mrs. and Mr. John L. Schi****es presented their infant daughter Marie Louise for baptism." (Tough call on names on my part). Sept 28, 1919-"Mr. PhilipGaetano came before the session professing his faith in Christ and after baptism was received into the Church." Note: Mr. Gaetano also became a member at this time. April 27, 1919-"Elders Jno W. Broughton and E.L. Beck were present. The congregation having elected Mr. Walter B Berniss and Mr. Chas. F Heckler to the office of deacon." Nov 30, 1919-"Miss Dola Walters presented herself for church membership, after examination as to her faith in Christ was received and baptized. Also Mr. Geo Noland Galtney Jr. and Mrs. Geo Noland Galtney presented themselves for church membership". Note: they where baptized and received as well. Jan 2?, 1920-"Miss Katie Hurley presented a letter from Fayette Presbyterian Church and was received into the Rodney Church". March 28, 1920-"Mrs. Lottie Paul presented a letter from the Methodist Church of Rodney and expressed her desire to become a member of the Presbyterian Church and was received." May 23, 1920-"Miss Katyline Berniss was dismissed to unite with the Presbyterian Church of Shreveport, La." Jan 22 1922'"Mrs. Katie H. O Quinn asked to unite with the church at Fayette". Jan 22, 1922" Mr. Chas. Heckler made request for letter dismissing him to unite with the church at St. Joseph, La." June 25, 1922-"Anette Limerian* Holder and Philip Gaetano was dismissed to 1st Church Jackson Miss and Philip Gaetano to Port Gibson." Sept 24, 1922-"Mrs Carrie S Hurley asked for a letter dismissing her to Fayette Church". March 25, 1923-"Mrs. Nonie Paul Monroe made request for a letter dismissing her to 1st Church Baton Rouge, Louise". May 7, 1923-"Rev. A.W. Duck presented request for congregational meeting to be called to ** on his resignation as pastor". May 27, 1923-"Mr. J.E. Paul came forward professing his faith in Christ and was received. Mrs Hattie Lily made request for letter of dismissial to Tupelo Presbyterian Church." Note: I have may not be correct in exact spellings on the names.....................
