    2. Martin Hackler Took an Oath of Allegiance to the United States of America from Cato West in December 1798 in the Jefferson County area. In the 1805 Jefferson County Census, Christian Hackler had four males over 21, one male under 21 and three females. In the 1810 Jefferson County Census, four males over 21, two males under 21 and three females under 21. In a court case in 1821: "Hackler's Heirs vsLewis Cabel Martin Hackler settled on land in what is now Jefferson County in 1797 and died the 6th of December 1803. His widow who was the guardian of minors Charlotte May, Samuel, Anna, Maria, Jacob and Ester Hackler later married Lewis Cabel. This case involves the land of Martin Hackler. December Term 1821." Ester Hackler had married Lewis Cabel in Jefferson County in 1805. George R. Lewis
