    1. [MSJEFFER-L] Need Smith Information
    2. I have been searching for the answer to this puzzle for years ... Can anyone please help me? Harriett Elizabeth Latham born 29 July 1845 married James Kelly Brown Harriett's parents were James Latham .. born in England 27 Jan 1803 .. died 26 Feb 1867. Is buried in the cemetery at Christ Episcopal Church in Church Hill, Mississippi. He married NANCY SMITH. at Christ Church on 6 May 1839. The church records list her as ANNA SMITH. Harriet's mother died when she was a young girl and her father went back to England and remarried. This time to his brother's widow, Allison K. Latham. It is my understanding that Dr. N.C. Latham was his brother. When James returned to the USA he brought Allison's family with him. Those children are about the same age as his children with NANCY SMITH LATHAM. This makes for some confusing date ... his .. hers... and theirs. Some how Rachael Smith who married James Scriber is kin to Nancy. Rachel and a Nancy are listed in Catharine Smith's will ...Adams Co., Will/Probate page 10-11. The will was dated 27 Feb 1803 and probated 6 Nov 1803. It lists the daughters as Hannah, Rachael, Elizabeth, Margaret and Nancy .. and a son Martin. This leads me to believe that Nancy was the youngest ..IS THIS MY NANCY ? ?. Who know anything about Martin Smith and Wife Catherine ??? Rachael married James H. Scriber on 3 Sep 1829 Nancy married James Latham 5 May 1839 Any and All information glady shared. I have a small date book with additional information of the Lathams .... and McFarlands. Harriett was left in the USA when James went back to England. I believe she must have stayed with Rachel .. and was fond of them. She named her oldest son, James Scriber Brown (who was my husband's grandfather) Ann Brown
